RED SEA REEFER™ 350 Sale

Innovative Designs

Going from the top of the Reefer system down to the bottom, the first thing you will notice is the crystal clear glass and elegant beveled edges. The second thing you may or may not notice is the slim overflow that houses all the drain and return plumbing to keep the water a constant level within the display tank and surface skimming while being super quiet and taking up a very small amount of real estate inside of the tank. The return nozzle is fully adjustable for to direct the flow where you need it, and the dual drain system keeps overflows from happening like a single drain design may encounter. The dual drain design has one main drain that includes a diaphragm valve for easy tuning and adjustments. The other drain is completely open to flow directly down into the sump in the event that the main drain gets clogged. If plumbing is one of the reasons why you have never wanted to install a tank with a sump don’t worry as Red Sea has done all the planning for you and there is no gluing needed to assemble and seal all the plumbing.

Filtration

The sump includes a filter sock holder and sock to keep large pieces of debris and detritus from clogging pumps and other pieces of equipment. The water can then flow from the filter sock into the skimmer compartment where the water will keep a steady level to aid in the best performance in your choice of skimmer or any other filtration components that you choose to include can be placed there. The water will then flow through the final bubble trap and into the final chamber where the return pump (not included) can be placed to pump water back through the Reefer tanks return plumbing.

Integrated Top Off

When water starts to evaporate all Reefer systems include an integrated top off system and reservoir that can hold a few days worth of top off water to keep the water level, salinity and flow rates consistent throughout the tank.

Aquarium Tips

Research the fish you would like to own. You want to know things like, their adult size, what their natural environment is, what other fish they are compatible with, and what kinds of things they eat, what temperature range they live in, and the pH range they will tolerate.

Buy a tank that is going to fit all the fish! Not the size they are now, but the fish's adult size! Your fish should have no problem turning around in the tank once they reach their adult size. Each fish should have several gallons of water for just them.

Chose a filter system that will be right for you. There are many out there, each requiring different amounts of care and maintenance.

Buy plants and wood to make hiding places for your fish. Many fish will be more comfortable and less shy if they have dark places they can go to hide if they feel nervous or are just trying to get out of their light.

Test the water!  You should check for pH, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates! The pH should what the fish you intend to keep would have in the wild.

REEFER™ Specification

REEFER™ aquariums are constructed from thick, beveled-edge, ultra-clear glass to support their elegant and modern rimless design.

The aquarium sits on a recessed base that “floats” it above the cabinet, which seamlessly follows the contour of the glass.

The marine-spec laminated cabinet that houses the sump, (and in the larger models also includes a dedicated, vented space for chillers) is smartly finished with weatherproof, epoxy-painted doors.

 REEFER™ Water Management System

red sea reefer marine aquarium system - regulated downflow system

Removable surface-skimming combs surround the top of the centrally located overflow box that houses the downpipe, sump return pipe and the discreet multi-directional “eyeball” return outlet nozzle.

In the event of a blockage in the regulated downpipe, an additional emergency overflow pipe provides an unrestricted free flow of aquarium water directly to the sump.

Red Sea Reefer marine aquarium system - Water management system

On entering the sump the water passes through a 225 micron mechanical filter bag, before entering the filtration compartment that maintains a constant water height, making it suitable for all skimmers and other reactors.

In order to remove any air bubbles that may have escaped from the skimmer, the water passes through a bubble-stripping cascade on its way to the return pump chamber.

To ensure a constant water level in the pump compartment, all REEFER™ sumps include an integrated automatic freshwater top-up unit,  guaranteeing a constant, stable water flow throughout the complete system.

Supplied as a complete self-assembly kit, all pipe work is ready without the need for any gluing.

Red Sea Care Program

A complete solution for optimal coral health, accelerated growth & enhanced coral coloration

The Reef Care Program (“RCP”) is the result of years of research into the physiological demands of SPS, LPS and soft corals in reef aquariums. The program explains how to be proactive and control all issues such as nuisance algae, coral growth and even color.

This is done by:

  • Describing the relationships among the many biological processes taking place in your aquarium and how they are all interrelated.
  • Specifying the optimum values for all water parameters in different types of aquariums, allowing you to better understand your own particular aquarium.
  • Including a concise, comprehensive and coherent range of products necessary to achieve and maintain these optimal parameters.
